Ford Motor Company has filed for a patent for a novel charging connector that has a charge port embedded in the vehicle’s bumper. The MagSafe connector would be similar to what you might charge your Apple product with but a whole lot larger. Ford envisions use with both EV’s and plug-in hybrids and AC/DC charging stations. The EV charging connector is based on a magnetic coupling of energy that is transferred through a magnet field.
